This FKEY is free (unless someone wants to send me $$) as I hacked this together one night in a fit of boredom using LightSpeed Pascal and the new sound routines provided with SoundWave (the new version of SoundCap). If you haven't gotten your update yet, GET IT!! Just install the FKEY using ResEdit or FKEY Manager, or FKEY Installer, or whatever turns you on. When you activate the FKEY you are presented with a standard file Dialog which is looking for files created by either SoundCap or SoundWave. Select the file and then listen to the lovely sounds...The FKEY automatically knows what the recording speed was (22Khz, 11Khz, etc.) and will play it back at the correct speed. As far as I know there is only one problem with the FKEY and that is that it will not play back sound files that were saved by SoundCap as compressed. The reason for this is that the source code that is provided with SoundWave does not support it and I don't feel like writing my own routine to uncompress. You will know if the file is compressed when you try to play it and get garbage. Sorry about that, but blame Impulse not me (and what do expect for nothin')
I hope that at least one person finds this useful, and if anyone has any comments, suggestions, changes, etc. let me know... I would like to write some Custom options for SoundWave and would like some ideas of what people would find useful.
